The 2019 Genesis Prize was awarded to Robert Craft, a businessman, owner of the New England Patriots football team and a strong supporter of The State of Israel. Mr. Kraft chose to dedicate the prize funds, along with a personal donation of 20 million dollars, to the fight against antisemitism and against the efforts to delegitimize Israel.
The main item of the event told the story of the war of the sons of light against the sons of darkness. 40 performers in a massive cubical set structure with video projection on it, acted a violent anti-Semitic rally that turns into a magnificent display of hope and brotherhood, with a shivering performance by singer Miri Mesika. The international-standards event was directed by Ran Tzahor and hosted by comedian Martin Short.
